Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of Mosturism, announced the launch of an ambitious cultural cooperation program at a meeting with the leadership of the Beijing Department of Culture and Tourism. The initiative involves the organization of mutual museum exhibitions that will allow residents and guests of both capitals to get acquainted with the rich cultural heritage of Russia and China. The proposal for the project came directly from Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who approached his Beijing counterpart with the idea.
The Moscow authorities count on the active support of the Chinese side in the implementation of cultural projects. Kozlov stressed the importance of cooperation between the museum institutions of the two megacities. This will be a new stage in the development of Russian-Chinese cultural relations, he believes. The project provides not only for the exchange of expositions, but also for the development of fundamentally new joint exhibition programs.
The successful implementation of the cultural program will be ensured with the assistance of the diplomatic missions of both countries. According to the head of Mostourism, the support of the Russian Embassy in China and the Chinese Embassy in Russia will create the necessary conditions for the prompt and effective implementation of plans. This approach will simplify organizational procedures as much as possible and accelerate the launch of exhibition projects in both capitals.
