A large-scale exhibition of Ilya Repin's works has opened in Beijing, prepared by the Tretyakov Gallery in cooperation with the Russian Museum with the support of the cultural departments of Russia and China. This is the largest exhibition of the artist abroad, including more than 90 paintings from the country's leading art collections. The exhibition is intended to showcase Russia's artistic heritage to a wide audience and deepen interest in Russian culture.

The exhibition, which covers all stages of Repin's work, is called "Faces of Russia" and will run until January 2026. The exhibition features iconic works such as "We did not wait", "The Procession in the Kursk province" and portraits of famous contemporaries of the artist. Special attention is paid to the theme of folk life, reflected in his works with a deep humanistic message.

The organizers emphasize that the project promotes cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Russia and China. Chinese visitors warmly welcomed the exhibition, noting the emotional power and realism of Repin's works, and also showed interest in Russian art. According to the curators, the exhibition can strengthen humanitarian ties and become an incentive for further joint cultural initiatives.
