According to Vera Shcherbina, First Vice-Governor of Primorye, the region is actively presenting its export potential in various cities of China, including Shanghai, Harbin, Chengdu and Changchun. In addition, the Days of Primorsky Krai will be held in Liaoning Province in December, and in 2026 it is planned to hold a cultural program in Guangdong with the participation of the Primorsky branch of the Mariinsky Theater.
China remains the region's key foreign trade partner, accounting for about 70% of the trade turnover. In the first half of 2025, trade between Primorye and China increased by almost 10%, and the volume of cargo transportation increased by about 14%. In addition to traditional ties with the northeastern provinces of China, the region is expanding cooperation with the central and southern territories.
Educational cooperation remains an important area. The FEFU–Xinhua International Industrial Institute of Biomedicine and Health is being created in Guangzhou, which will open the recruitment of students for joint programs in September. In addition, 15 maritime colleges cooperate with China in training specialists in the fields of transport, shipbuilding, agriculture and mechanical engineering, which contributes to the deepening of humanitarian ties.
